Dear Parents,
Need a late-afternoon without the kids?? Harmony School of Excellence-MS Sugarland Sunshine Committee will be hosting a movie night. Parents can enjoy some free time running errands, a nice quiet dinner, or just a much-needed time for self-care. The cost of admission is $10 and students will be provided with popcorn and a bottle of water. Students will need to purchase their tickets starting tomorrow during their lunch break. There is limited seating so please make sure to purchase your tickets as soon as possible.
We are happy to announce that we open a new club, Step Team.
A Step Team is a team that performs a unique dance art. Stepping is a form of percussive dance in which the participant’s entire body is used as an instrument to produce complex rhythms and sounds through a mixture of footsteps, spoken works, and hand claps.
The purpose of the Harmony of Excellence’s Step Team is to create an atmosphere of unity and diversification through stepping and group creativity. The group’s primary responsibility is to entertain, give back through community service projects, develop a sense of pride, gain leadership skills, and develop camaraderie between their teammates. Our motto is Live, Laugh, and Love.
Club day is Thursdays between 4PM to 5PM

In accordance with the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students, Harmony Public Schools will begin taking referrals for all interested students in grades K-12 for Gifted and Talented (G/T) screening.
Anyone interested in the educational welfare of these students may nominate them for assessment. Students in grades 1 & up who were tested in Fall 2022 are not eligible to test in Spring 2023. Referral forms are available at the front office and on the school’s website (see below).
The referral forms must be returned or emailed to the front office by January 31, 2023. The Spring GT testing window is set by the campus in February or March. Campuses may elect to use NWEA MAP scores as a prescreening criterion for GT Testing.
For more information about the screening and identification process, parents may contact the school’s GT Coordinator/Teacher.
